These addresses are being monitored; the Binance CEO has publicly spoken to all major exchanges to help prevent any further transactions or movements of the BTC from taking place; it is therefore unlikely that the BTC will be able to be moved successfully, meaning that although $41m has been compromised, they are unlikely to lose it all (if any) as they will not be able to cash out on the stolen BTC.
HONG KONG (Reuters) - Hackers stole bitcoin worth $41 million (31 million pounds) from Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, the company said on Wednesday, the latest in a string of thefts from cryptocurrency exchanges around the world. The 7,000 bitcoin were withdrawn by hackers using a variety of techniques, “including phishing, viruses and other attacks”, according to a post on Binance’s website by chief executive officer Zhao Changpeng.
